Breillat to helm 'Abus p Faiblesse'

PARIS -- Radical Gallic helmer Catherine Breillat is positioned to helm "Abus p Faiblesse," an autobiographical drama based on her book displaying destructive relationship with conman Christophe Rocancourt. Pic triggers Maud, a filmmaker battling with hemiplegia, who'll get changed by Vilko, an elegant crook sherrrd like to cast in their next movie. Isabelle Huppert may have opposite French rapper-switched-thesp Kool Shen in "Faiblesse," that's prone to lense in Paris through the partner of year. Breillat's follow-around "Bluebeard" -- released Stateside by Strand Delivering -- "Faiblesse" is produced by Paris-based shingle Costly Films and co-produced by Arte France Cinema, the film production arm in the French-German broadcaster. Arte France Cinema has furthermore boarded Argentine helmer Pablo Trapero's "Elephante Blanco" (working title) and Chinese filmmaker Lou Ye's "Mystery." Produced by French outfit Ces Films du Lendemain, "Mystery" can be a thriller undertaking a Chinese middle-class lady who discovers her husband's double existence. Hao Lei ("Summer season Structure") and Qin Hao ("Spring Fever") star. Presently shooting in Wuhan, "Mystery" marks Ye's official comeback in China. Since pointing "Summer season Structure" in 2006, Ye, a questionable and considerably acclaimed helmer, continues to be suspended from making films in China. His last film "Love and Bruises" carried out at Cannes. A drama toplining Ricardo Darin, Martina Gusman and Jeremie Renier, "Elephant" concentrates on two priests fighting to greater social conditions in the drug-affected slum 'burb in Buenos Aires. As reported in Variety (12 ,. 2, 2011), the $4 million "Elephant" is Trapero's finest-allotted pic up to now. It's produced by Spain's Morena Films, Trapero's Matanza Cine and Patagonik, and co-produced by France's Full House. Pic is shooting on location in Buenos Aires.
