Larry Dietz said the cause of death was acute ethanol intoxication, City News Service reported Wednesday. Lane, whose real name was John Kennedy Oswald left the 1980s glam band Warrant in 2008. The singer had a history of alcohol-related arrests. He was taken into custody in June 2009 for reportedly crashing into a parked car. A year later, he was arrested for a similar incident that landed him in jail for 120 days. "We'd like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Jani Lane regarding their loss," wrote former bandmate Michaels. "Respectfully, Bret and all at MEGI." A group of bands, including Great White, Quiet Riot, LA Guns, Enuff Z'nuff and Slammin' Gladys, performed a tribute concert for Lane on August 29 in Los Angeles.
